NFPA(National Fire Protection Association)美國消防協(xié)會，成立于1896年11月6日，屬非贏利性國際民間組織。美國消防協(xié)會的宗旨是：推行科學(xué)的消防規(guī)范和標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，開展消防研究、教育和培訓(xùn)；減少火災(zāi)和其它災(zāi)害，保護(hù)人類生命財產(chǎn)和環(huán)境安全，提高人們的生活質(zhì)量。一個多世紀(jì)以來，NFPA一直是防災(zāi)防損的先驅(qū)，NFPA的Codes成為了國際公認(rèn)的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，為世界各國所接受。中國消防規(guī)范也在逐步吸收NFPA的經(jīng)驗，融入到國標(biāo)當(dāng)中。
